Iris Landsberg was many things, a loving daughter and sister, a loyal friend, at times to some a significant other. Iris was also a dedicated teacher, a fierce animal defender and devout Buddhist.

Have you ever heard the expression "people speak but the gods dance"? Iris was a dancer at her core. Movement was one of her pathways to spirituality and her spirituality and service to others was always the guiding principle of her life. Whether she was helping a client navigate the muddy waters of social services or helping a sea lion back to the Pacific, or sending out the word of Buddha to those incarcerated it was all done in service from the heart.

A memorial service is currently planned for April 20, 2014 at Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery. For more information contact :

I wish to thank, Roni Landsberg, Grethe Nielson and Debbie Stamp for their help with this website.  I also wish to thank Sylvie Dhaussy for your editorial assistance.
